CYUEN 2008 : the National reference in the use of ICT in higher education

On 10, 11 and 12 December in Bordeaux, this second part of the international conference entitled “Cyber University Era Now” will bring together 1200 players of the European and international university communities, students, teachers, researchers, technicians, heads of departments, … and a great number of decision makers.

This conference will provide an opportunity to conduct a prospective analysis of the use of information and communication technologies in higher education, currently undergoing very fast and fundamental changes.

For three days, the various segments of the European and international university world and their partners will engage in a dialogue around the dominant topics that preoccupy university institutions in the digital age. The programme will allow some of the most topical issues which confront university institutions to be broached, starting with student success, autonomy and competitiveness of institutions, the management of change, particularly in relation to the development of new uses.

Laval University (Quebec), at the intersection of French-speaking world and North American culture, leader in the development of ICT/ICT for Education, will be our guest of honour.

Each day will revolve around a different fundamental theme for higher education institutions, namely: governance, successful handling of ICT for Education, cooperation.

The discussions will be structured around four plenary conferences and four parallel sessions organised in 24 round tables. The scientific programme will be completed with a substantial number of parallel events (workshops, community meetings, partner presentations, …). CIUEN 2008 will act as a meeting place, providing the participants with numerous opportunities for exchanges of ideas in pleasant surroundings.
