Building Communities and Sharing
Open Archives
AT - Scientific programme scheduled for December 11
From 16:00 to 17:30 at the "Salle F"
Summary
The scientific community multiplies the direct communication initiatives by taking on board Open Access portals and service platforms for open archives, thereby hoping to ensure the widespread dissemination and perennial conservation of its publications, whilst also providing an alternative to the products of commercial publishing houses.
The round table will discuss the general problem of direct scientific communication in digital mode, will present community strategies and the solutions available in terms of open archives, will match them to the needs and practices of teachers and researchers and will define the position of the various categories of players involved and the potential uses in higher education.
